About Austin

Austin moved to Nashville in 2012 to make a career of music and ended up behind a camera instead. Three years later he was interning at Annie Leibovitz’s Manhattan studio; a decade of magazine covers, fashion campaigns, and arena shoots followed. In 2017, a deepening of his Christian faith turned him toward a different question: not how to photograph businesses better, but how to help them grow. That answer became Lord Studio, a done-for-you marketing systems firm. He lives in Nashville with his wife and daughter.

The plateau

Revenue “danced anywhere between $15,000 and $30,000 a month” for a year and a half, and the ceiling wasn’t the work, it was the label. “Everybody still just sees me as a practitioner or the videographer.” Every stretch of client delivery drained the direction out of him: “all it takes is like a week or two of that, and I feel directionless again.”

The work

Unraveling a years-old productized-agency mindset and rebuilding the firm around what it actually is: a complete marketing operating stack, content, video, advertising, landing pages, and AI automation, run for service businesses. Weekly reorientation so the clarity survives contact with client work. And the identity shift from artist to operator, made deliberately rather than by drift.

The shift

The new model is already paying, “I just booked my first client from that.” The frameworks became his own tools: “action precedes clarity, not the other way around” is now how he runs the week.

Realizing that I can have mental frameworks that I go into that are just as much a tool... I just kind of realized that by observing you.
